ABCTE Expands Online Resource Catalogue for Prospective Teachers

Candidates Pursuing Passport to Teaching Can Receive Discounts on Products Until December 31, 2005

WASHINGTON, DC (November 10, 2005) — The American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence today announced new teacher preparation products giving candidates for teacher certification access to new teaching resources.

Candidates pursuing Passport to Teaching^SM certification can log onto www.mypass.abcte.org to discover new resources available to help them prepare for their teaching careers.

The materials include a practice CD-ROM and online refresher courses. The American Board has developed several CD-ROMs with practice exams. The CD-ROMs are available in English language arts, mathematics, biology, general science, Professional Teaching Knowledge and Multiple Subject Exams.

Each CD-ROM contains two full-length practice exams and several quizzes on specific topics. Candidates can take the tests in explore mode or timed mode, allowing them to tailor their preparation to your needs.

The American Board is offering each CD-ROM for $30 until December 31, 2005 and $40 after.

The American Board has also developed online refresher courses in English language arts, mathematics, biology, general science, Professional Teaching Knowledge and the Multiple Subject Exam. The courses contain more than 300 pages of material each and are designed to help candidates review for the subject area exams.  Courses include animated tutorials and activities, chapter quizzes, detailed lessons and illustrations, and a video demonstration component. Each course is self-paced, allowing candidates to focus on areas that need improvement.

The American Board is offering the online courses for $225 until December 31, 2005 and $295 after.
