In addition to our installment payment plans, which spread the cost of our program out into payments made over 8 months, the American Board offers financial aid to anyone that meets the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) income eligibility guidelines for reduced school meals.
If you qualify for financial aid, you will receive a discount on the cost of the American Board Plus Certification Program in the subject of your choosing. The discount will be taken right out of the cost of the program; no form of payment will be given directly to the student. If you qualify for financial aid, you are also able to pay via the installment payment plan.
See the chart below to determine if you are eligible for a discount. If your income is higher than what is listed in the chart above, you do not qualify for the reduced school meals discount. See below for other forms of financial aid you may qualify for.

The American Board is WIOA funding approved in the State of Idaho with reciprocal agreement with the State of Missouri. For more information regarding WIOA funding, please contact your nearest Idaho Department of Labor office.
FAFSA AND SCHOLARSHIPS
The American Board is strictly a certification program and is not credit based. Due to this, FAFSA and scholarships are not eligible to be used with the ABCTE program.
THE POST 9/11 GI BILL AND TROOPS FOR TEACHERS
The American Board is not an eligible for use with Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits.
We do work with Troops for Teachers, a non-profit that reimburses the cost of the program for military veterans that qualify. For more information on Troops for Teachers, click here.
Take a look at the American Board’s financial aid contract before enrolling. You may be asked to fill out this form and fax it in if you qualify for financial aid.
