That amount covers the cost of becoming a certified teacher with American Board.<\/p>\n<p>Investing a tax refund can quickly change someone\u2019s career path. The average salary of teachers certified by American Board can range from $41,814 in Mississippi to $62,994 in Pennsylvania, according to the National Education Association.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/why-so-many-americans-hate-their-jobs\/\">Gallup study<\/a> found that 51 percent of 100 million employees in America do not feel a real connection to their jobs. If you are in that 51 percent, consider a fulfilling career path that impacts your community in a positive way.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I love being involved in the growth and development of young people\u2019s minds,&#8221; said Tyler Graham, an American Board teacher. &#8220;The best is when you get feedback years later that \u2018your class transformed me\u2019. I just got one of those from a student I had years ago who is now in college, that\u2019s just a huge pay off.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, finding the time to become a teacher can be difficult. However, when Jalana Robinson decided earn her teaching certification, she decided American Board fit her schedule well.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I had always wanted to teach. I had substitute taught and enjoyed it, but it had never worked out in my life to take time off from work to go back [to a traditional college or university] and get certified.
