By the time he finished school, he knew his passion wasn\u2019t in economics, and decided to pursue other employment opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>After a move from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanboard.org\/teach\/florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Florida<\/a>, a chance meeting in a local park changed his life. He was approached by a stranger while working out. \u201cA coach saw me and asked if I could help instruct his athletes. After saying no a couple of times, I conceded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That coaching job eventually lead to Palmer substitute teaching. \u201cI loved it,\u201d Palmer gushes. \u201cI found it very excited to be a sub and loved sharing stories with the students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Substitute teaching soon transitioned into teaching middle and high school classes at a private school on a temporary educator\u2019s certificate. That\u2019s where the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanboard.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Board<\/a> stepped in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter spending hours online searching for avenues to convert my temporary certificate to a professional certificate, I found the American Board\u2019s program. I was thrilled.\u201d And why did Palmer choose our program? \u201cThe other options required me to take about five or six college courses. This would have been extremely difficult as I taught while also coaching the track team and assisting with my school\u2019s National Honor Society.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Palmer describes his American Board experience as flexible and a perfect fit. \u201cThe program was very straight forward and fit perfectly into my busy schedule.
