Berkley Independent: Local Professionals Can Make a Difference Through Teaching (7/15/13)

In South Carolina, only 35 percent of the state’s eighth graders have a math teacher who majored in the subject they teach, and only 38 percent of eighth graders have a science teacher who majored in the subject they teach, according to Change the Equation’s 2012 South Carolina Vital Signs report. The American Board’s teacher certification program was featured in The Berkley Independent 7/15/13 article as an opportunity for “career-changers, subject area experts, recent college graduates, and others with a Bachelor’s degree to earn full teacher certification.” To read the full article, click here.
